FREEBALL is a recreational grass volleyball league. We bring together players of all backgrounds for fun, competitive outdoor volleyball in a welcoming community atmosphere.
What your registration fee covers: FREEBALL T-shirts for everyone, prize volleyballs for the winners, spray paint for the 10-ft lines, and spare net parts. An upfront cost also helps prevent forfeits.
All games are RevCo (Reverse Co-Ed) 4v4. This means that the net is set to Co-Ed height and men can only attack the ball from behind the 10-ft line. There are no gender requirements or girl-touch rules. See more detailed rules here.
It’s for BB-level players. BB means you have a solid understanding of the game — you can pass, set, and hit consistently, communicate on the court, and compete without needing to teach the basics mid-game. You don’t have to be elite, but you should be comfortable in a competitive recreational setting.
Your team’s average skill level should be BB. That means you can have players who are slightly above or below BB, as long as the team averages out to that level overall.
One member of your group signs up as the team captain. The captain will receive individual player registration forms to send out to the rest of their teammates. Each player completes their own form to finalize the roster. You can sign up on this website!
We play in the Ballston/ Bluemont Area. Exact locations of league games will be sent to players during registration. Parking is readily available.
